Event Details
Dear Members and friends
Singcham HK - The Singapore Chamber of Commerce (Hong Kong) and CGCC (The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong) are jointly organising a Seminar and Dinner on 30 April 2024 (Tuesday) at 5.00pm followed by a networking dinner at CGCC Building, 24-25 Connaught Road, Central, Hong Kong.
China and Singapore implemented a 30-day mutual visa exemption arrangement in February this year, which is not only beneficial to the tourism industry, but also strengthens cooperation between the two cities in various fields.
Among them, the economic cooperation and exchange between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Singapore are the focus of attention. In recent years, cities in the Greater Bay Area have developed rapidly and have become important bases for innovation and technology.
As an international financial centre and business hub for Southeast Asia, Singapore has extensive potential for cooperation with cities in the Greater Bay Area. On the other hand, Hong Kong, also an international financial centre, enjoys the unique advantages of "One Country, Two Systems" and has become an important bridge connecting mainland China and Southeast Asia, including Singapore.
Southeast Asian companies have been focusing on Hong Kong's potential as the world's largest offshore RMB Centre. Hong Kong and Singapore have long-term cooperation established in the fields of financial technology; law; accounting and logistics. These are favourable conditions in promoting mutual cooperation.
As the development of the Greater Bay Area advances, Hong Kong can use its advantages to promote synergy with Singapore in emerging fields such as technological innovation, green finance, urban planning and management.
This will not only help Hong Kong companies to expand overseas markets, but also help Singaporean companies better enter the Chinese market. In order to further explore the progressive prospects of the Greater Bay Area and Singapore, as well as Hong Kong's role and function in promoting trade and investment flows between these two cities, CGCC and SingCham HK jointly organise a special topic to provide platform for members of the two entities.
The Consulate-General of Singapore in Hong Kong will also be invited to attend the seminar and dinner. We sincerely invite all members and friends to participate.
